FAMILY FUN at Bridwell this summer!

August 2nd - BUBBLE GLAZING demonstrations!

August 23rd - Have a go at SILKSCREENS! (in other words.. fancy pottery stencils!)

Recommended Age 5+, but you can be the judge as we know it depends on the individual. As long as they will understand blowing the bubbles rather than drinking through the straw - they're welcome to join us!

Session runs from 10:30am til 12:30pm. Arrivals welcome from 10:15am. 

Bubble glazing demonstrations throughout the morning so, as long as you leave enough time for your group to paint and be finished for 12:30pm, you are welcome to arrive at your leisure.

Where can I find you?

Enter Bridwell through the gates, pay admission fee at the welcome hut on arrival, follow the path up to the orangery. From there we will either be outside in the beautiful orangery gardens OR if the great british weather decides otherwise, in rainy weather we will be inside the (also beautiful) chapel just around the corner. Look out for our sign!

When will my pottery be ready to take home?

After the event, we will take your pottery away to be clear glazed and fired. It will be ready for you to collect from the orangery cafe 10-14 days later. You will get an email to confirm when it's ready for you to collect. (We can also post your items on to you.)

£15pp to include your pottery and all materials. Please choose your pottery online in advance.

Choose from:

• Mug (Recommended for bubble glazing so we can cover both the inside and outside!)
• Dessert plate, or 
• Figurine (Exact figurines can be chosen on the day - please leave a note if you would like a specific one!)

Booking strongly recommended - Walk-ins welcome depending on availability

We will have all the tools for some bubble glazing and will be providing demonstrations throughout the morning. Come along for some summer holiday fun and learn a new super fun technique! 

What is bubble glazing?

Bubble glazing is a technique where we blow down a straw into a cup with soap, water and glaze in, to create bubbles that spill over the top and land onto the pottery below. (Adult supervision required - we don't want any children drinking the soapy glaze!!)

Non-bubble glazers also welcomed to paint pottery at their leisure.

PLEASE NOTE: There is a charge for admission into Bridwell, payable upon entry.

• Cars/SUVs/Vans: £5 per vehicle
• Mini buses/touring campervans: £10 per vehicle

Friends of Bridwell Annual Pass holders enter for free as normal.
