FOOD ITEMS
The glaze we use ensures all pottery is completely food-safe. Our pottery can be used in both the dishwasher and microwave; however, we strongly recommend handwashing to prolong its life. Dishwashers can be harsh and may weaken your pottery over time. Please exercise caution when handling pottery straight from the microwave, as it can become extremely hot due to the nature of the clay and glaze.

FOOD AND DRINK
Only food and drink purchased from Happy Glaze Pottery may be consumed on the premises. We have a café serving hot and cold drinks, cakes, and other items. For celebrations, you are welcome to bring a birthday cake by prior arrangement. Please do not bring any other food, snacks, or drinks. If outside food or drink is brought in, we will politely ask you to put it away. If this is refused, a corkage/clean-up fee of £5 per person may be added to your bill.

DAMAGES
Occasionally, items may become damaged in transit or come out of the kiln with imperfections. In such cases, we may issue a gift voucher for a replacement piece to paint, instead of the damaged item. Damaged items will not be given out, as we may need to conduct testing, return them to suppliers, or simply because we do not wish to release imperfect pieces. This is at the discretion of Happy Glaze Pottery. Sometimes, if we deem an item good enough to keep, we may instead offer a small “damage voucher” as a goodwill gesture towards your next visit. Once an item is in your possession, you must notify us of any damages or imperfections within 24 hours of collection. After this period, items are considered accepted as-is.

EXCESS WASTAGE POLICY
We aim to minimise waste wherever possible. Customers who use glaze excessively or unnecessarily may incur a £5 wastage charge. Please use glazes thoughtfully – our team are happy to advise on how much you’ll need for your project.

UNFINISHED POTTERY
If you are unable to complete your pottery within your allocated session, we will hold your unfinished piece for up to 1 month so you can return to complete it. You may return to finish the same item for up to 3 visits in total (including your first painting session). Any additional visits beyond this will incur a double studio fee per person. Off-peak times (e.g. term-time weekdays): return visits are free of charge (within the 3-visit allowance). Peak times (e.g. weekends, school holidays): a studio fee of £5 per person applies. After 1 month, unfinished items may be disposed of unless otherwise agreed.

COLLECTION
Pottery pieces must be collected from our studio or posted to you at your expense. We will attempt to contact you twice using the details provided to remind you to collect your pieces. Any items left uncollected after 1 month from the date painted will be disposed of unless otherwise agreed.

DEPOSITS AND CANCELLATIONS
For general bookings, card details are securely held by a third party. Failure to attend your booking or cancelling with less than 24 hours’ notice will result in a £10 per person cancellation fee, charged to your card. If your registered card does not allow payment (e.g. due to insufficient funds), your account will be blocked from making future online bookings. Any future bookings must then be made in-store with a £15 per person upfront payment.

For private bookings, deposits will be discussed at the time of booking and are non-refundable.

For events, workshops, or online bookings, deposits paid at the time of booking are non-refundable. If you notify us at least 72 hours before the event, we may transfer your deposit to a gift voucher for future use (at the discretion of Happy Glaze Pottery). Cancellations made within 72 hours of the event will forfeit the deposit.

PARTY BOOKINGS
Kids Parties: £20 per person, all-inclusive. The price covers pottery, materials, tuition, firing, a party host, and drinks. Minimum group sizes apply.

Teen Parties: £200 for 10 makers (£20pp). Extra guests £20pp (maximum of 15). Includes all materials, tuition, firing, drinks, and a party host. Optional add-ons include cake, grazing boards, or keepsake items (prices on request).

Adult Groups: £10 per person non-refundable deposit required to book, deducted from each guest’s final bill on the day. Each guest pays for what they choose to paint, eat, or drink. Pottery starts at £10. Groups of 15+ will receive their first glass of prosecco on us. Exclusive hire is available for groups of 16–38.

Food Options: Optional add-ons include cakes from Erin’s Sweet Treats, afternoon tea (£15pp for groups of 6+), and grazing boards (prices on request).

Keepsakes: An optional group keepsake plate or frame can be pre-ordered (from £25–£30) and will be added to the booking deposit.

Cancellations – Parties: All party deposits are non-refundable. If you cancel with more than 7 days’ notice, we will try our best to move your booking to an alternative date. Cancellations made with less than 7 days’ notice will forfeit the deposit and any payments already made. Final numbers must be agreed before the party date. No additional guests may attend on the day unless pre-agreed with Happy Glaze Pottery.

PHOTOGRAPHY
By entering our studio, you consent to being photographed. These photos may be shared on our social media, website, or used for advertising purposes. If you prefer not to appear in photos, please let us know on arrival and we will do our best to accommodate your request.

CCTV
For the safety of our staff, customers, and the public, our shop is monitored by CCTV. Recordings will not be shared externally unless there is a valid reason (e.g. police investigation).
